"Bring my guest a glass of water."
"Pfah! This is hot."
"Indeed. Cold water is cheaper than hot, so I had all dispensers of cold water removed from home to allow only the maximum of extravagance. Also, all my water is heavy."
"Isn't that toxic?"
"I have excellent doctors."

Sometimes I make pretty bad typos, often the sort where I mean one word and accidentally type an entirely different but correctly spelled word.

This time where I meant to address my girlfriend by name I instead said to her 'power drill'.
Whenever I hear that name I think 'Ellen degenerates' and imagine a woman who collapses matter to electron degeneracy, or perhaps neutronium.

... how many people speak of 'cis' as a term adopted from chemistry, when my own first encounter with it was astronomical. Cislunar space, translunar space.

Is later than I would have liked. Woken by it being 38°, tapwater's too hot to touch more than momentarily and having only made breakfast so far am already definitely sweating. Apparently sufficiently dehydrated too by sleeping to swallow a whole large mug's worth of water before even leaving the kitchen.

Which school of not acting do you subscribe to? Will Smith or Keanu Reeves or other?

Very much enjoying Notepad++ so far. Is making me want to do more, and learn to code, just so I can have more opportunities to use it.

After it has been raining and some have been spotted darting across the floor, or crawling up my leg.

I have linked two posts by one individual: here, in which he subjects himself to torture and here, in which he is attacked by a blimp.

Yes, I thought this interesting enough to post.

Sometimes when I go to bookmark a page the quick list of recently used folders shows ones I do not actually have, always the same:
  • Other Psychotic Disorders
  • Schizophrenia
  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder
  • Sample Drugs
  • Saving Throws

If I ever use the expression 'don't have the boobs' (as in 'don't have the balls'), I got it from here.

Get your own table

At last, at long last, a day to myself where I can relax and be myself (that's a euphemism folks) and maybe get some work done. Beautiful springtime winds last night, blowing in the dark and trees swaying.

In dappling light we used to run. Cool wind soothed our faces and we would tumble together in soft green grass. It was thick and the river was cool all day

Though my reading pile will not thank you (or should I say piles? There are three each half a metre high) I think my horizons need broadening so I am asking anyone who reads this to recommend me something new. Non-fiction or story, on screen or printed page. As much or as little as you care to offer but one of each four would be good.
    And I thank you.

Having to mop up after a pet, then going out into the cold and rainy winter morn to toss the water out and watching a cloud of steam rise where it lands.

No I am not being facetious. What?

Time for bed at last, turala turala lay. Long dayish listening to interviews among other things. The first a debate between Paul Manata and Dan Barker which was somehwat tiresome. My thought - and I put this out because if I am mistaken someone might correct me - was that Manata kept treating logic and reason as things because he had to in order to justify his position. If logic and reason are not existing objects and things which presumably need explanation then he cannot invoke his God to be their creator.
Much more fun was this interview with Jasper Fforde, whose books I absolutely must read. The man gets It, probably much better than I do.

Anyone who does not read New Scientist should fix that as soon as possible. My evidence: last week's Feedback page. Just scroll down to the bottom for an analysis of the number of deities expected to be found in any given universe. Oh, and some other breakthroughs in knowledge too.

On a more productive note I have finished some background jjiggering for the story I have now decided should not be referred to by the name Luri after all. I don't think I want to use its code name either, so the tale shall simply go nameless for now. New schedule: more background jiggery (possibly with extra pokery) tomorrow, then back to Sparkle over the weekend before doing the actual writing of this nameless tale Mondee Wensdee Tuesdee. After, let's see if we can get some kind of rhythm going, shall we?

With love and words and loving words,
    Tricia
