*nods* That is something I have learned a few too many times :)
Perhaps it was even one of my Enlightenments. I, erm, cannot actually remember most of them. Only two really stick with me, which is "living without routine" and "perfection is impossible." Illustrative that my profound life-changing realizations are mostly forgot :)
I did that once, and after about a month of having it posted to my door, my mind just refused to accept it as insightful. My running theory is that enlightenment is just a new rule of behavior, and not one any more important than the previous ones, so I ought to just trust my mind to handle all of the rules. I have written a few others down in journals and the like but, ahh... I forgot where in the journals. It doesn't happen often enough for me to keep a dedicated journal for it. I suppose a computer file could work well, just transfer it in. It's just never really felt right - either the idea sticks because it's important, or it gets incorporated at a lower level like the rest of my philosophy. My mind is too changing to try and really pin down :)
I've just done a course in Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). Forgetting all the therapy stuff, one of the tools it gives is Mindfulness, whereby one pays attention to sensory input rather than the chatter of the mind. I'd heard of this but hadn't practised it before. It's impossible to do all the time, or one wouldn't be able to cross the street let alone do anything else. Maybe enlightenment is like that too. I seem to remember this quote:
