Incidentally, the term 'aspie' provokes in me hostility. It sounds to me like a word for a pet and I expect people can see why such an association from the mouths of strangers would repulse me. I try not to bristle when people use this term to describe themselves

I also happen to think this quiz was composed by a neurotypical person. Many of the questions were worded in such a way as to be unclear in ways I think a person who had that experience would not, In other cases, even though I thought I understood the intent of the question, it was worded such that I found it difficult to answer.

Oh, and they misspelled 'sex' repeatedly in the preliminary questions.

I have no intention of participating in the study this is related to.

"Aspie" is just a word. I use it. I can see how it might sound like a term for a pet; but I don't want to stop using certain words just because someone else might have some associations they don't like (of course, this is different from using words generally considered offensive).

This is not only about "Aspie" - see the recent discussion (http://community.livejournal.com/metaquotes/6360423.html) on why we shouldn't use the word "moist" anymore.

We-ell, I try not to be bothered when other people use the word for themselves, since if it does not bother them it would be rather silly of me to be offended on their behalf.

::shrug:: I really do not mind if other people call themselves Aspies, but the word has bad associations for me. Possibly I will change my mind through exposure.
