A Nick makes a comment on the last which is not strictly on topic but which I will partly quote nonetheless:

Edited to add this from LM's comment to the first-linked post: "You know, I never really thought about it like that before. I had swallowed that whole line about it not being safe to get to drunk in public without really thinking about it. And I'm not an idiot, I'm a reasonably thoughtful, well read, progressive - until I read your response to that Alrternet article, which I must admit gave me some misgiving when I read it first. It just goes to show how you can internalise ideas like that for years without really thinking about what they imply."

"Hemlines Don't Rape People, Rapists Do" that is an utterly hilarious title, and we are probably going to hell that this is most of what we took away from a post about rape ^^;;
