Or it was almost an hour ago. I was out today partly to get a gift and partly to have my hair trimmed. The trimming went well, gift getting not so well. I was hoping to get a collection of Edgar Allen Poe's stuff, something including The Raven but there were none available. Drat drat drat. And so for now I am empty handed - not interested in giving people some random bauble or piece of shiny rubbish if I can help it.The problem with living in a desert is you have no choice of bookstores. On the other hand, we do seem to be approaching the hairdresser/barber event horizon.
Biggest shock of the day came when the guy at the counter apparently did not know who Edgar Allen Poe was. Shame. If not for that and the huge cross hanging off his neck he would have been kinda cute. I did get something for myself, the book that was missing last time I visited the place, Classical Literary Criticism. The Le Guin volume was gone or I would have bought that too. Good thing I was not there for myself so it was easier to be restrained and not come home with a couple of bags of clothes. I need that money for other things.
And, oh yes, it was amusing to mishear an announcement as 'Communion, 20% off'.
