As expected I concluded my work week by falling ill almost as soon as I got home last night. Came on very quickly, the whole aches, fever, chills, difficulty swallowing kind of thing. I'm not accustomed to falling so sick so quickly, although after that first night - frequently interrupted by cat scratching to get in and out of my bedroom - I am feeling notably better again. Which is not to say I feel well as such, still woozy, still aching, still difficult to stand and so forth. But from last night I thought I might be as sick as I've ever been, so this is relatively underwhelming by contrast. Hoping it stays that way; even this much illness is far from pleasant.
Had to cancel various plans for my day off but at least I got still to watch a couple of episodes of Arrow with Ami. That show has plenty of flaws (white leading cast / people of colour in support roles only; Oliver Queen's hypocrisy and murder habit; some other things) but it is also quite fun and I'm overall rather enjoying it. Right now, watching the old Doctor Who serial "The Sensorites".
Once I hit send on this post I suppose I will try and journal some more on what I have been reading recently, although it is getting late and I should probably head to bed soon also.
Had to withdraw from my shift tomorrow evening, but I suppose part of the problem with being sick is despite getting more free time you can't really make good use of it, so at best it balances out or often you end up behind.
