Twilight!

Everything I read about this story suggests it is awful. Terribly written, misogynistic, endorsing of controlling, stalking behaviour in the name of True Love, racist, colonialist... pretty darn -ist in general.

The story may be dreadful, but I have been enjoying reading other people snark about its flaws. Especially cleolinda's recaps:
Twilight
New Moon
Eclipse
Breaking Dawn part 1, part 2, part 3.
Midnight Sun chapters 1-6, chapters 7-12

Normally I do not like to apply the term Mary Sue to an original cast member in canon, but in this case I want to make an exception. Yeah, Bella and Edward and what the hey, Rand al'Thor too.

Off to read Growing Up Cullen now.

Oh yes! Seen those, they are great.

I summarised the recaps a bit to my sister the other night and after a few minutes she was saying "I never want to hear of this story again". What scares me most about these stories is perhaps that they are pretty much exactly how my ex wanted our relationship to be.

It was a bit disturbing seeing how popular they were at my industry placement, among both staff and students.
