I accidentally clicked on Google News and this was the headline greeting me: Subtle shift toward secrecy. Says it is growing more difficult for Australians to access government information.

It seems to be a phase that Governments are going through. Stephen HitlerHarper has done the same thing here. And that doesn't begin to scratch the surface of what shrub's been doing down South of us.

Yup. It makes me worried sometimes that things are not going to improve - that even if governments are changed they will not redo the progress that has been undone - without some renewed pressure such as a revolution. I would not want to see that.

The alternative to a revolution is to elect people with common decency and ethical standards.

Except for some reason they don't seem to want to stand for office, or to win if they do : (

We might actually be going the other way over here. People have actually been making major fusses about suppression orders, actively circumventing them in a couple of places... (on the other hand - the fact that they have to, is worrying. And the Govt slapped a libel/slander suit on someone for it. But everyone knew about it...)

I think a lot of it's the urge not to be compared to Australia ^_^.

Although there was apparently a major anti-(homegrown)terrorist overreaction from the police, very recently. But they haven't finished sorting out the details...

My major flaw... posting before finishing typing...

Terrorism. There ought to be a law against it.

Using corpses for begging is strictly prohibited under the Odour Act (1407), Section C.
