I have decided I ought not read LiveJournal or any other material available via the internet until I have done relevant, school-related study for the day. Ideally this will mean fewer comments from me until I have an opportunity to catch, although I already failed today. Probably fewer posts too. If I follow through on my intention. Days are too short.
In other news, I yesterday transcribed 206 new words of Krakkaire and wrote 22 new words of Fantasia, making their totals 10,864 and 407 words respectively. Fantasia is difficult for me to write. It is not in verse, but the way it is set out is similar and requires me to make pretensions to poetic succinctness.
I had decided not to make my first participation in NaNoWriMo until next year, but
whimsical_esper is tempting me. Well, I have not registered and I am writing not a novel but a variety of projects mostly in the form of serialised fiction, so officially next year is still the earliest I can manage, but this is still an opportunity for a burst of productivity. Let us see how that goes.
Krakkaire:
Fantasia:
The estimate for the total comes, naturally, from looking at what has been written so far and what fraction of the intended story it comprises. However, I suspect it may end up being considerably shorter.
For my self-set target this month, 6,000 words, so far I am a tiny bit ahead and would need to write an average of 199 words/day to make that. For NaNoWriMoesque participation, I am quite a way behind and would need an average of 1716 words/day to make it.
I could give myself a jump start by going ahead and copying over the rest of Krakkaire, although that is not the most honest of ways to proceed. Ah well. The numbers are still there and can be counted with or without.
Possibly such an impetus to create new words would discourage editing, even more so than my current system. I hope I shall have the strength to overcome that if it becomes relevant.
Haha! Perhaps I could do well enough by going with my original intention and writing an entry of The Journal of Discourteous Joe each day. I may do that for a stretch this month.
Or bring back my 'word of the day' thing. There are a couple of stories I want to have finished by Christmas too...
Monthly Goal:
Excessive Goal:
Unfortunately the word meter does not let me start 0 words, so I told it one and subtracted one from my progress.
