What was I going to say of today?

Another quiet morning cleaning toys for the library. Still not making much of a dent on backlog there, merely treading water. I am not quite dedicated enough to create some additional hours of work for myself to deal with this, especially considering the fine from last time, but the prospect dangles tempting. If I am hit with inspiration on how to move hours around for achieving this, I am likely to take advantage of it.

Easiest method would be if I no longer had to work at the charity shop, but is unlikely to happen until next month or the month after. Don't know if there will be a replacement toy librarian by then, so perhaps I should add this to my list of things that will take me out on a Monday or Friday (so far, appointment with case manager, voluntarily canvassing a region for jobs, and ought to be a dental check-up too). But that shouldn't be a complete obstacle, I just have rather an aversion to stacking many activities close together, unless I can make them flow with each other.

Got to loan out some puzzles to one woman. This was something the toy librarian had suggested as a possible function of my being there Tuesday mornings, but which I had not previously found an opportunity to implement. That's a success. Also got to do some further catching up on podcast listening while cleaning toys, including a fun story from Escape Pod, Dead's End to Middleton. Was a bit unsure at the beginning but found it fun enough to ride along after only a little while. Could be a bit squicky, depending how you feel about parasitic devouring maybe-aliens.

Did not want to proceed on to the charity shop after that, but of course I did. Most of the work today was pricing and sorting books, although there was also an hour on the register.

Find that rather stressful, especially having to estimate prices at people who are there sharply in search of bargains. I expect practice helps with that, and I am getting it bit by bit. Whenever something that comes up which I am unfamiliar with, such as pricing for nightwear today, I take the next opportunity to get familiar with it for future occasions.

Had some problems today with dizziness (temporary loss of vision) when standing from a crouched or kneeling position, but that is something which happens from time to time anyway. I also had some trouble with recognising and relocating people, when they asked a question and I went off to find the answer and they had moved by the time I returned. On one occasion I told what I had learned to the wrong woman, and on a later occasion could not find a woman I had been searching out a book for until someone else pointed her out to me. Must take greater care to fix identifying details in mind to compensate for this in future.
