Monroe has been much more lively lately. She even comes to greet me when I come home sometimes. She does not seem frightened of me anymore, although she does still flinch whenever anyone moves nearby. Well, perhaps not flinch so much as move very rapidly, usually in a circle.
In great contrast to her first few weeks when she would not move at all, I played fetch with Monroe and Angel tonight with a little red football. Monroe finds this so exciting she bounces about as if she has springs in her feet, leading us to worry she might accidentally land on Angel (who is small enough to walk under her).
She does not seem to 'get' fetch itself very well though. Sometimes she catches the ball in her paws or carries it a little way before chewing on it a few seconds but she has yet to master bringing it back. She leaves that for Angel, who also does most of the catching. Monroe mostly just bounces around and chases the ball while Angel gets on with the business of actually playing the game.
Writingwise:
New month, daily word total is now 200. I have not counted but, as the previous post hopefully shows, I am confident I made my total. That is not actually the only thing I wrote today and I am now in the surprising position of having a (very) small excess of stories to post. I will try not to waste it.

But, if she is like Kismet (see icon) getting you to take it away from her is half the fun.

Oh! Speaking of forgetting, I forgot to ask what Kismet's thieving trick was when you posted about it.

Small dogs ten to need to prove something.
There was a portable dishwasher close enough to the stove for her to treat as a step stool.
