I let myself down with a couple of unintended days off this week and only managed 1478 words.

Yes, this count is not entirely consistent with last week's. This is because I do not feel like untangling the two parts of the story to get at this one's word count. Anyway, I have decided to take a break from Epic Fantasy and take care of one of the challenges

coniferous_you has set. Oh, and look! While scrolling through her journal to refresh myself on what exactly the challenge entails I found one of those pesky meme dealies, mutated again.

First, your orders:
[1] Grab the nearest book.
[2] Open the book to page 123.
[3] Find the fifth sentence.
[4] Post the text of the next 4-7 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions.
[5] Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest (unless it's too troublesome to reach and is really heavy. Then go back to step 1).

Now, the bonus round:
[1] Find the next song in your playlist on "shuffle" of your entire music collection (or close enough to it. No specific playlists!)
     [2] Let the song play until 1:23.
          (NOTE: If this is an intro or bridge, start from the first second with lyrics.)

     [5] Like the book-thing, do not switch around looking for the perfect song. Go with what the shuffle gives you.
