aesmael: (haircut)
Right now my plan is to take measurements of myself each week so I can see how and if HRT is affecting me. What I am asking now is for suggestions on what I may wish to measure. I already plan to cover weight, waist, hips, bust, um, nipples/areolae too. And weekly photographic self portraits but I have not yet decided if I shall share those on-line.
So... is there any other potential area of self-change I may wish to keep track of?

I'd read that occasionally something like that happens...I'm hoping that it happens for me -- I have a lot of muscle bound-up in my feet and hands -- but I'm not resting any major plans upon it, personally.

Omg....

I cant see how it's possible but I've always wanted to be shorter...

Dammit, I had low expectations for HRT and now you've gone and made me hope for one of the least likely effects!

Brynn said she shrank about an inch...she's about 6' tall, though.

I think loss of musculature in the feet can maybe drop 1/4-1/2 an inch, tops. If you're looking for a more severe height reduction, I've heard of surgery that can do the job, but it's not something most people are looking at.

How tall are you?

This is going to sound like nothing but I'm 5'8.

I've just always wanted to be shorter though...maybe I miss my childhood...

But I've got so much wrong with me already they'd never do a surgery like that on me in a million years... and to be honest I doubt I'd want to do anything that severe.

It does seem very anecdotal (which you seem to already know) but I will keep track just in case. Tsk, just when I was starting to think it would be fun to be a very tall girl again too. My image of myself as female always used to be quite short, like the women in my family.

Check out TransLog as a guide...the application is intended for HRT effect tracking.

Hehehe. I was about to post the same link.

I don't follow this regimine very much these days, but it's a good little program and the picture on that page shows you what to measure.

I'm kind of kicking around the idea of trying to create something that models your dimensions over time, so you can get a before/after comparison in 3d...I've figured out a few ways to do it, but I haven't implemented anything just yet.

Thanks. It doesn't seem to have quite everything I'm after, but enough that I will be using it in addition.

At one point I decided that I would not take pictures (except for the ones I sent to my mom).
I tend to go by changes I can feel (like putting a bra on and saying, "Oh cool, 40c!") or the "Amazing Expanding Booty" that becomes obvious to me whenever a sit on a narrow chair.

I still haven't decided about showing any pictures. Pretty sure I will take them though, because I am curious and because I can always delete them later but I can't take them after the fact.

I was also planning on taking measurements and posting them as well. It looks like everything has pretty much been covered here. Too bad there isn't a scale to measure emotional change.

Alas, we make do with what we have. Or should that be a cause for joy? We make do with what we have and build better for the future.
