So I guess that unless America elects an imaginary president I'm going to be unimpressed.

Hey, I'm still not sure Bush is for real. It could happen.

Date: 2007-05-29 19:57 (UTC)From: [identity profile] marr-vell.livejournal.com
To clarify: I meant an imaginary good president.

Date: 2007-05-31 11:05 (UTC)From: [identity profile] aesmael.livejournal.com
That is pretty imaginary.

My list looked a lot like yours.

Useless trivia: Ron Paul has been the Congressman for the town I grew up in for 25 years. His daughter was the grade ahead of mine, and my mom worked with him at the hospital. Of the Republican candidates, he is the closest to what the party used to stand for.

Date: 2007-05-31 11:10 (UTC)From: [identity profile] aesmael.livejournal.com
Neat. If more parties were more socially liberal than I might have a harder time choosing, since I don't know fiscal from pascal.

I should stop by your journal more often - I like being kept up but sadly often have nothing to say. Your life is a bit beyond my experience at the moment. Maybe if you put in more familial angst? P;

Date: 2007-05-31 15:22 (UTC)From: [identity profile] lantyssa.livejournal.com
I don't see my parents very often, and despite their attempts to adjust, it's still uncomfortable to deal with them for extended periods so I don't put much effort into going there.

My mom is crazy. Harmless, but crazy. Vu didn't believe me until we spent a week with them. My dad is the super practical sort, but also likes things done his way. He can admit he's wrong, but only after the fact. I take after both.

Is there enough potential angst in there? ^^;

Date: 2007-05-31 23:42 (UTC)From: [identity profile] aesmael.livejournal.com
I am satisfied for now. ^_^

Actually, the way you described your family makes me think of them as endearingly well suited for each other.

Date: 2007-05-31 23:57 (UTC)From: [identity profile] lantyssa.livejournal.com
I could deal without the sniping between them, but they've made it 40 odd years together, so maybe. I suppose it helps my dad spends most of his time at their river house and out mom's hair. (She was dreading retirement.)
