So, this is the impression I have had roughly since learning of both homosexuality and homophobia but not actually articulated previously. That is, what bothers most homophobic men about gay men is that they do not like the thought of being looked at, eyes crawling over them like an object for enjoyment rather than a person, being come onto, harassed and not listened to when they give polite refusals. That what bothers (most) homophobic men is the thought of being treated the way they treat women.
