aesmael: (friendly)
It is November now - for a while - and I am asking for any recommendations people have. Books, film, music, comics, games, fiction, non-fiction, online, offline, whatever. Anything you think I would enjoy or be better for being exposed to, now is your chance to say so. Or just wait a few months until I ask again. :-P

Oh, almost forgot the please!

Hmmm... what kinda comics? :O

Do you want a graphic novel or a full collection type of comic or like a currently on going series I think you should read? :O

I guess for the moment, I'll recommend American Virgin, which is still relatively new and you could prolly get most if not all the issues. :)

It's published by the Vertigo brand of DC.

I'll recommend more later when I know more of what you're looking for :)

That is why I did not say anything more specific, so I could be surprised. Wanna see new things and not just the same stuff I always go for. :-D Plus I know like nothing about comics, I've been collecting a couple of manga titles but no western comics at all.

Have heard good things about Vertigo though, definitely will check that out when I can (I only know one comic store in the whole city if you don't count Borders, they don't seem as popular in Australia as North America).

If you know nothing of them, then check out the Sandman graphic novels or any book by Neil Gaiman. Your library might have them, if you have one conveniently nearby.

Ooh, Neil Gaiman, yup. Been on my list for awhile, got Coraline in my reading pile and subscribed to his journal. I really really want those Sandman books tho...

He doesn't have a very high profile here for some reason, sorta like how the US seems to ignore Terry Pratchett. I don't know why. Did they make some kind of deal?

A lot of people I know like Pratchett. Better yet, Good Omens was written by the two of them. ^^
