aesmael: (haircut)
Last night [livejournal.com profile] soltice and I were discussing AV science fiction and trying to come up with something we would like better than what is currently available. Toward the end we were starting to despair, but we did salvage about half a movie poster.

We have a tagline: "There is nothing new under the sun"
We have a setting: Story focus should be on a free-floating world, not gravitationally bound to any star.

That can be the poster image too.

Would anyone care to jump on it? At this moment the idea of collecting a few stories based on the same prompt seems like a fun idea. Am tempted to try my hand at it, see if I can produce a couple of distinct variations on the idea. 'New', well, will have to be creative about interpreting that; Ecclesiastes had that particular set of words pretty accurate.

I had something vaguely like this idea a while ago, a fantasy story set in the elemental plane of air. The concept was basically that there was no ground.

It's really abstract and seems like a fun idea to play with. Is that the kind of thing you're talking about?

That's already been written though.

Sure! Unexpected interpretations seem like a great idea. I'd really like to see that.

I know.
So it's been used.

I don't see how that matters, except as trivia.
