    Anyway, here's a thoroughly excellent post by megan_julca on the prejudice some feminists direct at transsexual women (the accepted term for bigotry directed at transwomen seems to be transmisogyny, which does not mean, as I at first thought, misogyny on the part of transpeople)

    This link is separated from my previous post to hopefully avoid one issue overshadowing the other, but it is the reason I intend to look into local shelters.

*no one has actually accused me of being insufficiently political yet
