I finished my first romp through Doom 3. Much longer game than I expected. Interesting to see the way the predominant monsters changed by area. I was slightly saddened when I realised I had not seen any Z-secs for a long time and that I probably never would again.
More saddened when I played a few minutes of a fresh game, walking through the corridors of the still-functioning base and realising I could not save any of these people.
I definitely warmed to the monsters as the game progressed, especially the Revenant and Mancubus compared to their originals. Revenant has style, knows where it is at. I quite liked the way the Imps would sometimes hold their fireballs as I wove to avoid where I thought they were going to go. Even came around on the Hellknight design, although I like to believe the original is still out there, somewhere...
Next time will take longer, oh yes. And I doubt I would ever be able to finish the game on Nightmare.
