aesmael: (Me)
I said yesterday there was not much to say. Well, there was at least one thing. I saw live for the first time the launch of a space mission, that of the shuttle Endeavor. I found it more moving than I expected and so it serves as another reminder that to read of something is not the same as to experience it.

Last night I also managed to write 223 words which, although bad, still Count.

I, too, watched the Shuttle launch. My heart skips a beat whenever I hear "GO at throttleup". I can breathe again when I see SRB-sep.

Y'know, I live a few hours away from Cape Canaveral, and I don't think I've seen a launch yet XD I totally should.

I have been to the Space Center tho, and saw some neat stuff (like part of a Saturn V, the huge hangars where they used to build them, and also the big crawlers they use to bring shuttles out to a launch pad) =)

Was it a night launch? Those are always the best. Whenever there is one coming up it is definately worth to go see another one. The sky lights up and it looks like day.

I didn't even know it was happening until I was told. However, I must now kill you and assimilate your experiences. Or just visit, whatever is more convenient.

This (http://aesmael.livejournal.com/220610.html) post actually. And the launch certainly is! Even if I would have rather something I was more supportive of. P-: Did you happen to see it in person or just by television like I did?

18:36 EDT. What's really great are the launches just before sunrise or just after sunset, when the sun is up at altitude but not on the ground. You get some really neat effects involving the exhaust plume.

Nope, day launch. Must have been afternoon though, I saw it early in the morning. Now I have to see a night launch too.

They were, then, not the optimal words for this point of this story. However, their presence now will hopefully enable me to later select the best words I possibly can later.

Better? ^_^

Those things that don't become passe, I love those things.

I ought to track down footage of the Apollo 11 launch/mission. I have never seen that and always wanted to.
