I was just reading Google's terms of service and something struck me. Is it true that children are not allowed to use Google for searching? See section 2.3(a) for why it occurred to me.

You and your current events. Children should not be allowed to use that thing because it is toxic. Also, it has become a verb and that creeps me out.
Anyway, I am a blogger. It is my sworn duty to scour the seven internets for every slight detail over which a storm may be raised. Do you not see me standing heroically?

Haha! I did not notice. But this makes sense yes.

I reject current events because I am a dinosaur.
You are current in the past.

I believe that is known in legal circles as "covering one's arse"

Makes sense actually, in fact, I'm pretty sure the entire internet isn't technically allowed for children. Hell, children's sites like Barbie and Hot Wheels even have disclaimers like "ask parents' permission before going online" so they aren't liable for the possibility of children losing their innocence from hitting just the wrong link. It's only natural that Google would cover themselves similarily.

:o

That's something like, every company online uses to protect themselves :o I think the idea is that if you're a kid using it you have parental consent :) It merely means that a child can't accept the terms of service, and would need an adult to. But since it's tacit consent, if the child is using google it means that they have parental consent to.

If the parents dun consent to, it's their problem that their child was able to access it. And therefore no fault of Google if the child ended up finding a porn site for instance XD

Google can probably hire the very best lawyers to cover their arses. And them some more to do lawyering.
