A five year+ mystery is solved, the show my sister and I remembered is real after all. Probably no one else will remember since it seems to only have aired in Australia and Italy. Not available anywhere anymore sadly; it was a great show (when I was seven?). Not sure how she remembered it too, she would have only been 2. Reruns?

It was apparently originally in French, although that doesn't mean it'll be any easier to find...

I don't remember if we also talked about how racist the actual story and animation was, but I think we did. Is a shame since it was otherwise a pretty great adventure story.
