Janet D. Stemwedel|Adventures in Ethics and Science has a cool new post up about intermolecular forces. It is part of a series a number of sciencebloggers seem to be doing on the basic concepts of their field which are, from what I have seen, very well written and handy for anyone looking to get a quick brush-up or introduction.
Ihate love hate love the way seemingly simple classifications turn out to be much fuzzier and less easy to separate out from everything else upon closer inspection. Ionic bonding, as featured in this post, is an excellent example of this.
Be sure to check out the other scienceblogs. I don't know how many others are also doing a basic concepts series but it seems to be a fair few.
