aesmael: (sudden sailor)
My notebook story is going well. It could go even better with a little audience participation. One of the main characters is a university student and her major is anthropology. I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who has studied/is studying anthropology/archaeology/history (this story is somewhat superheroic, hence the broad-spectrum speciality, much as the other principal is majoring in Science!) whether by email or IM.
To help with that I have just created a new gmail and aim account (in addition to all the other ways I am contactable), both called CelestialJayde. They would have been aesmael except that one is somehow taken.
Anyone who can tell me about living in a dormitory, that would be super awesome too. I won't promise to use what anyone tells me but at least this way if the story is unrealistic it will be by choice or human error.

Forgot to say, a big part of what I am after is the experience of being an anthropological student and how these subjects are taught as well as any background on the subject(s) [it](them)sel[f](ves).

Today was a day for hackwork. I wrote a page or so, most of it working out the metaphysics of Morgan & Melantha's world. I think some good ideas came out of it and I might reuse something from the prologue of 'Sheldon' (working title) but what they are I will not say yet.

Right now I am looking at personal wiki software for organising my writing notes. If anyone has any advice, suggestions or other thoughts they would be very welcome. If you want to suggest one to use it needs to run in GNU/Linux or else to be amazing before I will consider it. Not sure if I would consider a web based one; someday I will use one for a story though.
