2006-08-19 21:53 Amille kept close the bag holding the strange... whatever. It hung from her neck as the pair flew up over the canopy and back toward the city. More than once she forgot and had to grab it hastily after a careless swoop. Kari taunted Amille by flying rings about her - but not too close. She still did not trust the strange thing. It felt like bad magic. And when they saw the highest parts of Arylim peeking through the trees ahead she darted forward and out of sight, diving under the green carpet of leaves beneath. Amille flapped harder but it was no good. "Not fair!"
Kari was sitting quietly, sweetness and light, outside Miss Digis's office when Amille arrived. At least she waited for her friend to get her breath back before banging on the door (and it is easier to pretend you are breathing easy when you sit still). And but a moment later they were invited inside.
