I have not written anything for a while now - for shame. But last night the muse struck again and I jotted down a 239 word story outline. I expect the finished product to be a novellette or novella (hopefully with practice I will become a better judge of these things), probably at the lower end of novella. We shall see. Also managed 90 words of Sparkle.

Tonight I start by changing one of those 90 words into another and then cutting it along with eleven others before adding another 106 words. That will do for now - I have to be up early tomorrow and it is already far too late.
I thought I had to go in to the job agency this afternoon but when I called to verify my appointment I discovered it was in fact for next Monday. Now, to continue trying to fix my enrolment...

And saw the clip for the New York Dolls' Dance Like A Monkey - must get that album. And check out their other stuff too.

You've been assigned to deliver some sheets of paper to Triple-You Ess, the scholarship planet.

That is, I have been on the phone off-and-on this afternoon and it looks like the correct form to submit to continue my education has been identified. Now it is just a matter of printing, filling out, delivering and perhaps calling some supervisors - exactly the kind of activity I enjoy most. What a glorious day.

But perhaps I typed too soon. You see, I was downloading the form as I wrote this and adobe informs me the file is damaged and could not be repaired. Let's try again. And it worked! Looks nasty though; I'll see how it goes.
I have just finished catching up with the webcomics I read (except the ones with rss feeds, those must wait until I am caught up on my rss reading) and now I can go back to getting current with new ones. First off, Alien Dice.

Blogwise, Pharyngula all caught up - on to Bad Astronomy!

Yes, I'm in the kind of cheerful mood that makes me not care how annoying and pointless I am being.
Normally they only come into being when I need to label a story to describe it to others. So although I still mean to work on Sparkle if I can, I want to focus my attention on what I wll call the Luri story for now, trying to finish it in time for Wednesday, even though I am going to be posting another sketch from that shared world project whether Luri is ready or not.

When Sparkle is done I can finally start work on Witch's Cottage and something else I should be pleased to announce in a couple of months if all goes well. I really must pick up my pace if I do not want to fall further behind my ideas.

Semi-old posts at Cosmic Variance and Majikthise I am only now getting round to reading. Very fond of Sean's line "They seem to be implying that women face obstacles in the world of science that men do not. In other news, the Sun rose in the East this morning." And the remark quoted by Lindsay about crying - oh dear, if it is true. I cry quite enough  already, thank you. I have no desire to become a complete mess.

Alas I do not have a subscription to Nature. Then I could not read the article at my leisure.

Perhaps I should crosspost this to some comunities? Maybe not. I don't seem to have any actual comments on it.
