The way you've been saying it is fine, to my preference. 'Autistic person' rather than 'person with autism'. Many autistic people drop the person altogether and describe themselves and others simply as autistics, though I'm not personally comfortable with that either.

Asperger's syndrome is what it is officially named, yes, so far as I know. The website was calling it Asperger's disorder instead.
