This time from dclarion.
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 7 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.
"... Consider. Where should we walk?"
"Harut hath said that Leviathan wisheth to speak with thee."
"Yes. But I'm not sure she wants to speak to anyone just now."
"Mayhap thou'rt right, milord. And yet will come a time when she shall desire conversation, e'en more than she did ere this."
The nearest book to me does not have a page 123 because it does not have that many pages. The next nearest after that (excepting the bookcase to my left because I do not feel an ass today) does not have a page 123 because pages 119 to 150 are missing from this never-previously read copy of The Woodlanders, so it is being Gutenberged instead.
Then which book did I chose? I decided to reinterpret the instructions temporally instead and picked out the next book from my reading pile, To Reign in Hell by Steven Brust (
skzbrust). If anyone is curious, the speakers are Satan and Beelzebub.
Although in fact I am sure the sample size has grown larger since last time.2. Open the book to page 123.
